She couldn't read music right? Who cares, just listen to that heavenly voice!

Sorry [not!] ... Judy Garland kicks ass. No one can touch her.
I mean, not even dare touch the hem of her friggin' skirt.

FM&MG was a huge hit and Judy's first complete grown-up role. She made the transition from juvenile to romantic lead, which not every young performer could do. Unfortunately, it got stuck in her mind that the thinner she got, the better she looked, the better she could be costumed, and the more successful she could be. One reviewer called her "bony-faced" in this film, but this is how she liked herself, which was not as nature intended. And so a very big problem.

Awesome. Judy and Gene were incredible triple threats - great dancers, singers and actors. I love to see their duets.

Just brilliant! As janesshadow says, their voices harmonize beautifully.
I can see something of Judy Garland in Norah Jones, who I think is the most beautiful, talented female singer of all time.

This movie made me so sad when she got mad at him. :(
But it was a great ending. :)

Great cinema - a wonderful invitation to sing along - hard to believe that Gene Kelly would be yesterday turned 98 years. Wonderful couple - he was a perfect dancer - always casual and relaxed moves :-)

It highlights underlines the extraordinary talents of Gene Kelly, he already offers such an excellent presentation in his debut. Today was his birthday.
