Dean idolized Bing, along with Mills Brothers. His style started out like der Bingle, he even made a recording called "If I Could sing like Bing"; and spent hours playing golf with him at Pebble Beach and elsewhere. Bing was a laid back character from radio days, so he never seems to be Mr. Personality. And yes I am sure they drank together too, along with Phil Harris and a few others.
