the chorus is a ripoff of the fall's "big new prinz"

okey then, we will settle a date for 25.12.2038 to discuss on whether "these new puritans" were or not a breakthrough in british music history :)

I fucking love you.

Exactly. The only way to tell whether an act is an innovator or an immatator is time.
Just look at the brilliant My Bloody Valentine, who unintentionally kickstarted the Shoegaze movement with their debut album, and have gone onto be seen as influential as The Velvet Underground after releasing their second album Loveless. Yet Shoegaze today is generally is seen as a crap footnote in British music history.

okey i don't disagree on that! i've just noticed that there are too many new bands and most of them don't have something new to add. all i'm saying is that we shouldn't consider a band "great" because it plays like another great band. we shouldn't be looking for immitators but for innovators :) that's how art developes

But it's been like that every decade, you have 25 sheep for every shepherd.
Oh forgote to mention Elbow as well. ^^ |
