Lars Ulrich is a hypocritical shit
as he used to tape exchange with other mates when he was growing up, file downloading is tape exchange on a grander scale

This is old, Napster is now owned by Best Buy and charges its customers.

As for the argument, there are good points made by both, but considering how the economy is for regular working people right now, it's easy to see why this doesn't mean anything anymore. To some, it never did. Also, the last album you should've downloaded from Metallica came out in 1991.

Another case of giving the people the internet and then calling them criminals for using it. If downloading is illegal then close down all the "illegal" free sharing sites that make it possible. There are a lot of sides to this. I don't buy cds anywhere near what I used to. I research them and listen to samples. Most full albums aren't worth the price. I can remember buying $20 CDs before the internet, where you can preview songs. I wasted a lot of money on bad albums.

is it just me or does Malcolm Gladwell look "chubbier" here compared to his current rail-thinness (and haggardness)?
could this just be an effect his HAIR has on his appearance?

I'm not trying to stop people downloading.

well no offense, but your opinion that people downloading music are thiefs isnt going to stop people from downloading because something like eight million households in the U.S. are still sownloading music. but your right in the sense that people can stop downloading if they really want to, but thats really a personal choice based on that person's moral. even though I dont download music very often, I will still continue to do so on occasion. I still believe it can be used for good purposes. |
