im telling you what jaziye is. there is no specified "amount" but because the moslims are supposed to pay 2.5% of their income, and the jews and xtians didnt have to pay, the jiziyah has to be the same amount (2.5) if dr. Zarinkoob says it was 70%, whether true or false, its not islamic. i am a moslim. iran has been moslim for more than it has been in any other religion. if iranians were gonna stop being moslims, they would have done it during the moghols, but we turned them moslim. think!

amooballer, go read the book '2 centuries of silence' by Dr. Zarinkoob which has been published even under Islamic republic to see how much the Jaziyeh was! for most families it was 70% of their income! When a man finally accepts Islam all his children are obliged to accept it otherwise they will be 'mortad' and killed. this law is still valid in Iran!!! One day we should stop this ugly terrorist religion and send it back to Arabs. My friend, open your eyes and respect your ancestors.

the jaziye was collected because as nonmoslims, the xtians or jews or zorostarians didnt have to fight in any wars or protect the moslim community. thats why they paid.

So it wasn't Eranshahr during the Sassanians? Correction: It was known as Persia mostly in the west. The Greeks incorrectly called Iran/Aryana Persia and the rest of the west followed suit. You haven't studied history, you're just reciting a common misconception ;)
