why do you say that?
I appreciate this interpretation, and I am inclined to believe that Michael Bolton himself is quite an accomplished, talented singer/songwriter.

what's that guitar this guy is using? great strat-like tone out of humbuckers on what looks like a kramer or something...

Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Randy Jackson, & Michael Baird from Journey`s 1986 ROR tour were the guys backing up this song. Neal plays the blues like no other guitar out there! Neal & Randy even playing "Schon" guitars in this video. Cool!

I an sure he is a nice guy, but his voice I don't know , give me Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam any day now that's a voice.

Bolton built a career on vandalizing iconic classic songs. This is another hairrifying example. Avoid also his (per)versions of "Georgia on My Mind"and "When A Man Loves A Woman".

wat a voice,wat a man!!hair to dye for!!!!!!

He has a strong voice but this version kind of goes against the entire feel of the song. Its more like Running around and screaming on the Dock of the Bay than sitting.
