６０年目の人生を迎え うとする
一人のウルトラマラソンランナーが、
これまでの輝かしいキャリアをリセットし、
壮大な夢を実現するため長い旅に出る。
地球をこの足だけで一周したい。
地球はひとつで、地球は丸い。
風力で大海を渡り、己の脚力で大地を蹴り、
このかけがえのない地球を全身全霊で実感する。
朝、太陽が昇る方向に向かって走り出し、
日中、男と頭上ですれ違った太陽は、
男の背中を照らしながら西に沈んでいく。
一日に５０Km東へと進む。
このシンプルな一日をひたすら繰り返すことで、
３年後、男はまた同じ場所に戻ってくるだろう。
そして、その間、
この同じ星の住人である人たちと様々な出会いをし、
想像を超えた大自然や
人類の長い歴史が産んだ数々の遺産に触れながら、
わたしたち人類がこれからも地球で
暮らし続けるための叡智を感じたい。
この男の前代未聞の挑戦は、
地球を巡礼する旅でもある。
