Betty Garrett biography

Betty Garrett (born May 23, 1919, St. Joseph, Missouri) is an American actress, comedienne and dancer who belonged to the golden era of the movie musical, such as ‘On the Town’ and ‘Neptune’s Daughter’l. in her later career, she is best known for a pair of roles in two prominent 1970s sitcoms: Archie Bunker’s liberal next-door neighbor, Irene Lorenzo, in ‘All in the Family’ and Edna Babish in ‘Laverne and Shirley’.

The Ghost Breakers | Bob Hope, Paulette Goddard

Very funny comedy with Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard (The Great Dictator).  Mary Carter (Paulette Goddard) inherits her family’s ancestral home, located on a small island off Cuba, and, despite warnings and death threats, decides to take possession of the ‘haunted’ castle. She is joined by radio broadcaster Larry Lawrence (Bob Hope) who is fleeing New York with his butler, Alex. Once on the island the threesome enter the eerie castle ...

The Paleface | Bob Hope, Jane Russell

Movie review of ‘The Paleface’ - a very funny movie set in the old American West, where a dentist from the East (played wonderfully by Bob Hope) goes out west, where he meets outlaw-turned-lawman Jane Russell, who uses him as her cover while she looks for gun runners.  Bob Hope is at his best at the cowardly lady chaser, who has wonderful screen chemistry with the beautiful Jane Russell.

Thelma Todd biography

Biography of Thelma Todd, a popular American actress of the late 1920s and early 1930s film. Appearing in over 40 pictures between 1926 and 1935, she is best remembered for her comedic roles in films like Marx Brothers’ Monkey Business and Horse Feathers. She also had roles in Laurel and Hardy’s Another Fine Mess, The Devil’s Brother (aka Fra Diavolo), Chickens Come Home, and a brief part in The Bohemian Girl’.
